The Pennsylvania Department of Education announced today – March 23, 2020 – that all schools in the commonwealth will remain closed through at least April 6 to assist in saving lives and stopping the spread of COVID-19.
“Protecting the health and safety of students, families, teachers and all employees who work in our schools is paramount during this national health crisis and we must continue our efforts to mitigate the spread of the virus,” he said. “The number of positive cases increases daily and we’re seeing it spread to more counties. We must adhere to the social distancing guidelines. Extending the closure will help every community in its efforts to mitigate the spread.”
Classwork will resume on Monday, March 30 remotely. You can either complete your work online as teachers post assignments or, if you do not have access to technology at home, you can pick up a packet of work to complete from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at the Duke Street Entrance on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. New work will be available every 2 weeks as long as school is closed.
Meals will also be available for pick up each day from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at the Duke Street entrance.
