REPORT A LATE ARRIVAL OR ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL

MISSION

The mission of the Crispus Attucks Charter School is to prepare students to become mentally tough, by accepting responsibility for themselves. We help students develop self-esteem, self-respect, and respect for others while promoting academics, leadership and career skills, transforming our students into productive and respectable citizens in the community.

ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

The Crispus Attucks Charter School is a YouthBuild-affiliated high school diploma program incorporating hands-on job training and service learning for grade 12 students ages 17 to 21. The school’s core purpose is to help young adults achieve their full potential, building them for what’s possible.

As a member of the YouthBuild USA Affiliated Network and the AmeriCorps National Service Movement, we provide our students with opportunities to improve the community and the quality of life for fellow York residents by building affordable housing for low income families.

Our school emphasizes long-term skills development in the following ways:

SAFE ENVIRONMENT

We maintain a safe, encouraging, supportive learning environment.

INDIVIDUALIZED LEARNING

We provide pupil-centered education to empower students to become effective, successful learners.

ADVANCING POTENTIAL

We motivate and educate students to realize and achieve their highest intellectual potential.

INSTILLING VALUES

We instill the relevance of education for personal and professional success.

HELPING FORMER STUDENTS

We help former high school dropouts earn a high school diploma by meeting YouthBuild competencies and PDE standards.

POST HIGH SCHOOL ENCOURAGEMENT

We encourage students to pursue post-secondary education in college, technical, business, or trade schools.
